Although is generally acceptable that a diet high in fruits and vegetable are recommended for good health, only a small proportion of the world population eat these in sufficient quantity for healthy living.
Statistics show that: - Over nine million people die worldwide each year because of hunger and malnutrition out of these, five million are children.
Approximately 1.2 billion people suffer from hunger (deficiency in calories and protein).
Some two to three and half billion people have micro nutrients (deficiency of vitamins and minerals). Some 1.2 billion suffer from obesity (excess fat and salt often accompanied by deficiency of vitamins and minerals).
To what extent does diet play a role in chronic disease? Chronic diseases are long term diseases that are not contagious and are largely preventable. They are the most common cause of death in the world and present a great burden for the society particularly diseases like Obesity, Diabetes, Cardiovascular diseases, Cancer, Dental diseases and osteoporosis.
With all this alarming statistics, it is essential to do everything possible to take care of ones health, knowing fully well that we don’t get the right nutrients from the foods we consume. Most of these foods are stripped of the necessary nutrients all in the name of preservation and over cooking. Often we know that we eat to our early grave. For instance, some fifteen years ago, if one buy a loaf of bread and keep it for three days it will grow mucus. But nowadays the bread will dry up and become hardened. That shows that the nutrients (lipid and steroids) in the wheat have been stripped away because of preservation.
So how do we take charge? The World Health Organization (WHO) says that, for us to stay healthy for a longer time in life. We need to do three things. 1) Rest 2) exercise 3) Diet.
Rest should be two hours during the day and six hours later at night.
But hardly do we rest because of long hour of work. It takes ten percent
Exercise should be everyday activities that will last for at least ten to
thirty minutes. We hardly do that too. This also takes 10%
Diet which is the most important part takes 80% and its shouldn’t be taken
likely. But unfortunately we consume form in the wrong proportion.
Approved diet structure: - The approved food structure says that we should take more grains that should be 50% of what we consume on a daily basis. Then fruits and vegetables in the right proportion should be taken at 30% on daily basis. Followed by protein and that should be 15% while fats and sugar (animal fats and carbohydrates) should be taking in a small proportion and that should be5% of what we eat. Now reverse is the case of our diets. We no longer eat accordingly, we take too much of carbohydrates and fats, in which the end result is sugar and over the time can causes diabetes and other chronic diseases.
HOW OUR FOOD CONSUMPTION AFFECTS OUR CELLS
The human body is made up of 37 billion cells which form different body organ such as the Heart, Kidney, and Pancreas etc each of these cells function is to receive nutrients from the food we eat and discharge the waste product. These cells should be fed properly with the right nutrients so that the outer membrane will be permeable to nutrients. The nutrients should be rich with lipid and steroid that are found in whole grain. The cells that support us through our everyday hustling and rigor of making money should be taken care of on a daily basis. We should not always blame the government on every of our predicaments but take charge of our health now. We cannot but do without our diets, because most of us are used to the diets. We can continue to take them but there should be sometime that can bridge the gap, something that can supplement the deficiency in our die
What do we do to take care of our health? because of these alarming changes over the years, world renowned scientists with several years of research developed life changing supplements that are capable of feeding, protecting, repairing and renewing our cells. The scientists saw that taking care of the cells is taking care of the whole system. These are life changing nutritional supplements, which are developed and backed by the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). These are long-time research committing to the highest quality to give the body what it needs to feel great, look good and live younger everyday.
